The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and the military have rescued eight people abducted around Millennium City and Marabar Rido in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The victims were freed between October 31 and November 2, 2026, in coordinated operations carried out with the Kaduna State Government.

Addressing a press conference at the DSS Command headquarters in Kaduna, Commissioner of Police Muhammad Rabiu said the operation was part of sustained efforts to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks behind recurring abductions in Millennium City and its environs.

The rescued victims are Jamila Muhammad, 27, wife of Abdulkadir Bello; Talatu Yakubu, 40; Yunana Bawa, 30; Calista Bishop, 27; Chidinma Onuwere, 36; Eucharia Obi, 41; Godiya Victor, 50; and eight-year-old Miracle Alex.

The rescue comes weeks after security agencies freed Ahmad Zakka and members of his family on October 15, 2026.

Rabiu said the successive breakthroughs showed the agencies' determination to rescue victims and dismantle kidnapping networks across the state. He acknowledged ONSA's strategic coordination, the police's operational support, the DSS's intelligence-driven efforts and the military's involvement.

He also commended the Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Uba Sani, for its support, and said the operations reflected President Bola Tinubu's commitment to national security.

Rabiu urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible, actionable intelligence on suspected kidnappers and bandits, assuring them that such information would be treated confidentially. He also called on traditional rulers and community leaders to support the campaign.

The commissioner appealed to media organisations to report responsibly and avoid publishing unverified information that could undermine operations or cause panic.
